The white substance covering your grow kit is called "mycelium", it is the base of life for your mushrooms to be. Think of it as the mushrooms roots!

Yes, you can eat the mushrooms you grow from our kits. We do require you to read our "Before Consuming Page" before deciding to consume the mushrooms you grow. Its best to be better safe than sorry and always consult with your doctor as an extra layer of insurance. Most doctors offices can answer these questions over the phone.

We take the highest precaution when crafting our mushroom grow kits and supplies so odds are your kit is not contaminated and what you are experiencing is mycelium growth and development. If you see any sort of blueish green spotting or dark black spots send us a photo RIGHT AWAY so we can determine weather you need a new kit or not. NEVER open a kit you suspect may be contaminated as this may disqualify you from refund/exchange.
